Magic that happens in the spectator's hands is always the most powerful and memorable magic. Blake Vogt's adaptation of Michael Weber's "Four Dollars in Change" is just that... POWERFUL and something they will never forget!

Imagine showing an origami ring crafted out of a and placing it on the spectator's finger for safe keeping. A bill is shown and tapped against the origami ring on their finger. Immediately the bills change place. The bill visibly transforms into the bill that was just on the spectator's finger. The spectator looks down to see their origami ring is now made with the intricately folded bill. This is a giveaway the spectator will keep forever.

Blake Vogt has used Michael Weber's creation with permission and added a shockingly visual transformation.

It works Report this review

I'm happy to say that despite my reservations as to whether this would actually be practical in the real world...it is. My only complaint is that I'm not sure how it will work with Canadian money as he only explains American money. I'm still glad I got it.

It gets way better reactions than I expected Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on July 14th, 2012
It really does. Like better reactions than pretty much any trick I did last night at the bar and for reference, other tricks I did were Stigmata using Osterlind's perfected center tear, Helder Skelter from Red Mirror and an ambitious sequence that uses the Clip Shift as a finale. All those tricks, as always, got great reactions but not as great as this one and that surprised me.

I thought this would be a neat trick that leaves them with a cool souvenir. I thought reactions would be more like "oh hey that was neat and now I have a cool ring, thanks!", but in reality the trick is a miracle that literally people kept asking me to do last night (at least 5 times).

The gimmick is easy to make and should take about 10mins. The nice thing is even if you don't use the ring presentation, you can still do a transpo with it. But really, use the ring. If you try with the ring and just a plain transpo, you'll definitely notice the ring gets better reactions.

It's not too difficult to do but will require a little bit of practice. With maybe a half hour's worth of practice you should have it down.

It happens on their hand. It happens with their dollar. And surprisingly to me at least, it's a miracle.

Money transposition on steriods Report this review

This is a lot of fun. Very easy to perform and checks almost all of the boxes. The only issues would be the prep time to fold up new rings, you destroy $7 dollars worth of bills to make the gimmicks, and there is a quick reset that I haven't figured out how to do in public.

I'm beyond frustrated. I received the trick bt since Im Canadian it's useless to me. This CANNOT work with Canadian bills! I just feel that this should have been noted in the demo and introduction of the product. Money in the garbage and not pleased

Not bad! Report this review

But I prefer "Atomic Bills" by John T. Sheets, because you borrow all bills for the effect and end perfectly clean.

This effect is so-so, and I think it's a great trick. However, wearing the gaff does not suit me but someone else it might. I prefer Eugene Burger's Last Dollar.

Visual and Effective Report this review

Does exactly what it says! The Gimmick takes some time t make, especially if you are planning multiple performances in one day. Gimmick construction taught in lots of detail.
The effect itself gets great reactions and i'm likely to perform it if I get the time to make multiple rings.

Fun, Organic, Situational Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on April 30th, 2013
I like magic that seems organic and situational, where the person doesn't realize that it's magic until it's done (I also like Self-Tying-Shoelace for the same type of reason). This is really perfect for that type of magic, and gets a really good response.

Make sure you watch the supplemental Download you'll get before building the gimmick. I didn't, and he gives an updated gimmick tutorial that I haven't yet tried, but wish I'd seen before building the initial gimmick, because it looks a bit better and more manageable.

My only real complaint about the gimmick is based on experience with the original design, but I'd imagine that it's applicable to the revised design as well: it's too easy to lose the gimmicked part just during your daily routine, especially when reaching into tight pockets or handling certain types of materials (can't say more without giving things away).

He also shows a revised handling in the Download, but I prefer a slight revision to the original handling (and think I'll probably still prefer it with the updated gimmick, when I get around to making it).

I don't love Blake's teaching style, but I've also seen far worse. It's definitely the weak-point on this DVD, but the effect more than makes up for it.

My only other real complaint really has almost nothing to do with Blake or the effect, but with the basic folding of the ring (which has nothing to do with the gimmicked part). It's just kind of a pain in the butt to get some of the final tucked folds to stay in place. Also, spend some time figuring out which finger you want to use, and getting the right size.

Overall: Highly recommended.

Perfect Transpo Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on October 24th, 2012
This trick is awesome....similar to other bill transpos but the ring on their finger, which is theirs to keep, takes all the heat! Sweet change, set up is not too hard and is natural, and they get something to remember you by!
