Jon certainly kicked butt at Motor City. His performances and lecture were really great. I believe he's doing one more lecture, this time in Grand Rapids MI. After that he's off to Malaysia to return to his life as a professional magician. If you're in the area, don't miss John's last lecture in Grand Rapids. This may be the last chance you have to see him for quite awhile. Also, he's making a tremendous deal on his notes and other items. The first few tricks truly amazed me but after that it just gradually became more and more boring. Everything he showed was card magic except for one or two rubber band routines. There are some great material in here but they all consist of routines which involved marking a card and such.

Sorry, not the lecture for me.

Penguin lectures are among the very best values in magic...and this one's no exception. The always entertaining and engaging Mr. Armstrong delivers a first-rate learning experience here. There's much to absorb for the newbie and seasoned professional alike. This is absolutely not to be missed --- period!

Jon Armstrong is funny, engaging, and incredibly talented and this lecture is of tremendous value to anyone who enjoys watching and performing good card magic. I cannot recommend this Penguin Live lecture enough.

This is good stuff. I'm glad I bought the lecture.
He doesn't show some things I'd hoped for, but what he does show is good, and he does explain very clearly how to do some sleights just beautifully. I'm not a working pro, but Jon's explanations are good enough that a non-pro can do amazing sleight of hand with cards.

Right after being introduced by Nathan Kranzo, he says, and I quote: "Thank you nick, just for the record, I won close up magician of the year..." He is so fn boring. He should have won boring magician of the century.
