If you're looking to learn the very basics of the 3 card monte, and the 3 Shell Game. Then this is your gem for sure, 5 stars, you'll learn the basics, and a little more. But I feel that it only taught what it had too, the essential moves that you can find in most books which have these routines in it. Personally I'd find something else, and dont feel I got my moneys worth.

The DVD's are well done, and somewhat funny in a corny sort of manner. I enjoyed them and learned the techniques quickly. The Shells and Peas are of good quality and easy to use. Unfortunately this deal offers a pack of bicycle brand playing cards with a border. On the DVD, Sal Piacente recommends using the Bee brand playing cards because they do not have a border. The borderless cards hide the trick better. Otherwise, I would have given this 5 stars.

When I first watched the DVD's, I was a little dissappointed. They were shorter than I expected and was just like, "Thats it?" I already had a good understanding of the basic moves of both three-card-monte and the shell game and felt like these were a waste of my money.
After watching the DVD's again, and learning a couple of new moves, I realized what little you do learn on these movies translates to a lot in real performance scenarios. Not only do you learn the moves, but you also learn the psychology behind the moves and why it works. Plus, you won't use all moves taught in a single performance. You can use them all, but theres no need to.
There are two reasons I took a star off. 1) Sal uses cards from a deck of Bee playing cards on the three-card-monte DVD. If you order this, add a deck of Bee cards to your cart and use the Bicycle deck provided for other tricks. The Bee deck will help you hide your moves. 2) Although there are clips of Sal performing both routines in front of an audience, a full routine from beginning to end would have helped more with knowing how to flow from move to move.

Sal provides a great introduction to the three shell game and three card monte. Various moves and feints are taught. The shells are fine, but it always seemed odd that we're using golden shells. Feels against the aesthetic of a con man.

I purchased Sal's set some time ago and also had the pleasure of meeting Sal and watching him give a game protection seminar at the casino where I worked. He is not only the consumate sleight of hand artist and one of the most affable, easy-going, nicest guy you'll ever meet, he also has that Houdiniesque, showmanship persona that comes out in every performance that keeps the spectator captivated and spellbound. His DVD set is a steal at that price and should be displayed on every magicians bookshelf.

Vince is funny and so gritty street and hip and entertaining and he will give you a good education and make you smile while you learn.

I already knew how to do both the three card monte and the shell game so i did not feel as if i needed it but i got it for my Halloween bonus and i just want to say that this is a great DVD. I wish i would have bought it earlier as it not only has the montes but the paper clip monte which is just great for a magic routine. This DVD will have your friends baffled. Add To Cart

This has got to be one of the nicest shell game and three card monte DVDs on the market. Great quality shells and DVDs. Takes a little practice, but when you get good, you're ready to make some eyes pop.
