First off, I knew going in there was going to be some arts and crafts and my "split" personality was not looking forward to it but I liked the parts of the routine and really wanted to look at the ultra thin "attractive" properties of some of the finished products...Trying to hint without giving it away, but needless to say, I was satisfied with the deck and the materials that were sent..good quality and will last as long as any other quality product. While doing the entire routine, may have parts that are out of the reach of a beginner, most can be done with a few basic sleights and handlings. A good portion is done with having a mat to work with. I think any intermediate will like this..and someone good with the arts and crafts definitely would. This would have been a solid four or five if not some of the issues with the instructional video....the good..the walk around routine portion is good stuff..have already performed it multiple times while i have been doing my arts and crafts project...and it does kill...Where my issue is during the construction portion of the video...he doesnt have the right cards or supplies when showing you the construction and says ' I dont have anymore Bicycle Decks" and "dont use super glue here, but I dont have a stick so"..He says he is in Macau and hard to get things. So I am going to say this once and I mean this out of respect. I think Shin is extremely talented and creative, but if you are going to sell me a deck of cards and some thin "things" for $70...at least take the time to make sure you have all the correct supplies that the actual purchaser would be using before shooting the video..Maybe thats just me...all in all I will be using parts of this...and the "thin" things are the thinnest I have seen and work extremely well.

The entire 52 Shades of Red effect is just visual effect on top of visual effect. The ad copy and all the claims are all true, except for the fact that the Revolver Change by Kelvin Chow was not taught. However, utilizing these gaffs and other sleights, the same effect could be achieved. Other than the gimmicks already included, you have to pay around $30 on supplies to complete the gimmicks. The arts and crafts take around 5 hours, start to finish, and it is pretty easy. The extra gaffs are all included so you can perform every effect in the trailer.

First when I opened up the package I saw a block of very thin magnets and a deck of cards. I opened the box and saw some guff cards and the 52 SOR V3 deck. I watched the tutorial (2 hours) and I was excited. It takes something like to hours to make the gimmicks but believe me it's worth it. Shin covers everithing you need to know and theaching really well. It takes time to practice and the bonus version is really good. All in all I recommend you to get it.

The trick is amazing. Its so visual, good plot, and i can continue saying good stuff. But, 5 things that made it 3 stars.

1. ( as mentioned in another review ) In the tutorial video shin says, here i use super glue, but you should use glue stick instead. Or, i don't have an ace of diamonds so pretend this card is the ace.

2. Don't expect to perform the full routine out of the box. *you* will need to construct some gimmicks.

3. A lot of materials missing in the box, you will need to buy some stuff you probably don't have to build some of the gimmicks.

4. You can't perform the trick on any social media or on any tv show. It has a copyright.

5. Shin doesn't teach everything! He does an overview of the trick, then how to construct the gimmicks, then bonuses.
He doesn't say where he puts each card, his preparation, which card is a gimmick and which isn't.

I will recommend buying only if you are a fan of shin or his style, or if you have previous versions.

52 shades v3 is packed with some great ideas. Piccaso is loaded with potential along with several other bonus effects. The gaffed cards for the bonus effects are really great. The 52 shades of red deck is also great for a color changing deck and blank cards to regular cards. $70 is a lot to pay for a trick, but if your willing to put the time in to practice and make some gimmicks, this is a great trick to have.

I just got my 52 Shades Of Red and I have to say, that it's GENIOUS!
The size of the package has suprised me a bit, but that's not important; You get the gaffed cards and you'll be only requierd to complete them properly- which is also known as arts and crafts. To be honest, I was really worried about, cause a lot of people were complaining about them. I watched the video and...They are not the easiest, but, believe me, they're not at that kind of difficulty level, that even someone, who suck in arts and crafts wouldn't done them.
Keep in mind, that full, original 52Shades is copyrighted, so, as Shin reminds you through the video, make this effect your own and you'll be fine, when it comes to copyright.Whole routine is extremely visual and if done right, with gladness and smoothness- absolutely beautiful. The extra gaff cards are also very nice and they're great supplement to your magic staff. Speaking of nice and great things I have to mention Picasso. It's AWESOME!
Summarizing whole trick is definetly worth your time, cause
if you put a lot of involvment in it, the effect would be stunnnig. During arts and crafts you may be eager to surrender, but just be patient. Magic does not exist without patience.
Just take your time, be patient and the effect, well, the effect cannot be described by words alone

This is absolutely amazing! Yes it's mainly for shows, lighted controlled areas, bday parties, etc. There is A LOT of hands on DIY but Shin has to do this for himself as well. He can't sell it completely assembled. To much time for him which would mean more money spent for us. Shin goes in full detail of everything and sits down to construct everything with you. Also takes a lot of practice for the sleights but again what doesn't in magic. If you're devoted you'll put in the time. You can not perform on tv, social media, etc without making a complete different routine of your own and asking Shin for consent or you could face fines due to copyright. But all you have to do is change up his routine and ask permission. What's so bad about that? Lastely this routine for the main act is just brilliant to say the least! It even fools myself while I'm practicing!

This is a very great trick, as well as the bonus effects are also amazing. Shin Lim goes through an overview of the trick, as well as he then teaches how to construct all of the gimmicks and cards. Shin Lim also teaches a walk around version of the trick in which no construction is needed and the gaffed deck is all you need. The bonus effects were overall amazing, especially Picasso. If you are willing to put into the effort and make the gimmicks, you have yourself a wonderful routine.

This is a very visual effect under the right circumstances. There is a ton of arts and crafts, along with around $20 of extra materials that will last you a lifetime. The arts and crafts are pretty simple, and it took me around 5 hours total to complete. The video is shot beautifully and the lighting is great. The extra gaffs included are very fun to play around with. The main difficulty is making the routine feel magical, while hiding a couple things.



This is definitely worth my money. If you are a fan of Shin Lim, definitely check this out
