Is Michael Ammar's new Topit pattern really new?

I have everything from 1981: Michael's Topit book; Michael's Topit pattern; Michael's VHS tapes (I even still have a VHS player!). I was about to commission a fine seamstress to build me two Topits when this $18.00 item appeared. So my question is: do I unload another $18.00, or will I be disappointed, only to discover that the "new" pattern is essentially a rehash of the 1981 version? Thanks in advance for your helpful answers. ~ Phil B.
