Paradox Card

I noticed that the tee-shirt and the close-up mat were both black. Can this be performed wearing any shirt and on any reasonably chosen surface?

@Martyg57...
You may want to go re-watch the video on the ad page or the YouTube video using the link that's provided in the other post.

The comment that you make is correct, but your inference isn't complete.
The dark surfaces do help.
However, check out Rick's previous video for this card. Here's the YouTube link:

He performs in a black shirt and a white shirt...
Best wishes!

Although unintentional and incorrect, your electrical tape theory gave me an idea about switching in this taped card at the end as a giveaway.
"Wait...that hole was there. Where did it go?"
Thanks for the idea ;-)

I don't think this forum is for figuring out the secret of a particular trick. Maybe you should look for some "puzzle solving" forums. Logic problems are my favorite.

Clearly a piece of ELECTRICAL tape on the card so you need to keep it moving somewhat rapidly as he did in the demo. The background light never came through either of the "holes". Of course it could be that the square and circle are PRINTED DIRECTLY ON THE CARDS, I d/k, but either way it's just some black to make it look like "holes" when they're not.
