Telephone drama

Curious as to why this routine is called the 'telephone drama'? I didn't see any phones involved in the demo - did I miss something?

It is because historically you would reveal a friend and their phone number. Nowadays, we don't memorize as many phone numbers and modern phone numbers are typically more complex than old phone numbers. For those reasons, he reveals different information.
