True Triumph

Does this require any type of sleight and if so, is it difficult for a beginner to do?

It is not completely self working but I would say that it is well within the grasp of a beginner.

You will need to be able to shuffle, ribbon spread the cards, and cut at a break. These might be new skills for a complete beginner but they are foundational moves that should probably be learned by just about anyone who performs with cards.
