Nobody writes on a piece of paper then folds the paper with the writing on the outside before
tearing it up. Doing so is unnatural and looks odd. Spectators are not dumb. They are going to
notice that writing is on the outside and as soon as the paper is torn, the writing is turned
towards the performer. This is not a deceptive way to do a center tear.
Wow anonymous, I think you must have misunderstood the instructions? The secret information is not on the outside of the paper. What you may have seen and been confused by was the participants name written on the outside (as done by many including Osterlind,) which has a reason, but actually is not how we instruct in the updated instructions, because in the end it is unnecessary. You are basing your review off of a misunderstanding and also, a minute detail that isn't even necessary for performing this. Or maybe you haven't actually watched the instructions? We are very confused by your comment.
