I had a suspicion as to what the method was, but thought, "Why not give it a shot?"
To be
clear, I am familiar with most ungimmicked ID methods that have been published, and I use Michael
Close's version fairly often. I have used Singularity as well, so I'm not afraid of heavy sleight of
hand. I thought I knew the principle involved here, and I am unfortunately correct.
You
need either one of 2 things here - 1) The ability to do an incredibly difficult move by Christian
Engblom with 100% accuracy, or 2) Set this up once you take the cards out of the box and handle it
very carefully.
My point is this is only a somewhat novel method, but it is NOT a worker.
Stick to either of the aforementioned versions or use a gimmicked ID of any kind, but do yourself a
favor and don't get this!
I would like to amend the review a little bit. After speaking with Daniel, it appears that my second paragraph regarding the Engblom move was incorrect. However, that being said, I still struggle to get it to look correct. In the end, I do not see this as an improvement over either existing ungimmicked methods or the original ID. That's just my 2 cents. I would re-rate as 3 stars for a novel idea.
