If you have a black close-up mat, then you're not in luck.

Make sure your shells stand out from the close-up mat. And since your cards need to stand out from the close-up mat, black is the favourite colour (to contrast white) which WILL be a problem for your turtle shells if you dont have some other coloured mat.

I love these shells. I still use my street shells a my primary set, but these work well with the right patter. I use them when i go to visit the beach. the only problem is the peas. If you order this go ahead and get the perfect peas and save yourself some problems.

These are stunning shells. They look so nice and they are different too so your spectators will appreciate that. The only thing I warn you if that if you buy them, you better use them. If you have never done the shell routine before, just beware that it may not be for you. I would suggest starting out with something more simple and then later if you find that you use it a lot, then pick them up. They are really really great.

The craftsmanship and quality are great, not a problem. But the down side is that they are hard to pick up due to the taper up and smoothness designs on the sides of the shells. In real show, no, I wouldn't use these shells. Display, yes.
Again, great shells but hard to perform with, that's why I give them a four star.

I am very impressed with these shells. Black Fox always makes great shells, but these are beautiful. After receiving these, I have not even once preformed with them. In my opinion, they are to magnificent; I'm pretty rough with shells, so I decided to keep them on my shelf and proudly display them. good work, great display of talent.

I love these. These are the best shells I have ever used: high quality, easy to handle and so unique that people have to take notice. As far as other reveiwers concerns about blending into your close up mat I must say that I have never had that problem. I use mainly Black Tigers, Vipers and ghost decks which is why I use a red close up mat, which led me to buying the white balls to use with the shells. They contrast great with the red mat and my green turtles and make for great patter, I do a 6 minute routine with these talking about my pet turtles and how they lay eggs but sometimes they eat the eggs and I finish by lapping one as I switch it out for an actual live turtle which gets AMAZING reactions from the crowd when they see it poke out it's head and start to walk across the mat. The turtle, Bram, is a dwarf red eared slider and can be found in most pet stores. For birthday parties he is awesome because at that point I can let the kids play with him while I sneak off to eat a piece of birthday cake. Always remember when negotiating to include a piece of birthday cake as part of your performance fee.

This trick is great! I did it the first day I got it. They are unbreakable, but I found that the paint comes off rather easily. The peas are also very good. If you have a black close up mat, peaople could see just fine. The red pea even makes it more colorful. You need to buy a instructional DVD because I thought that the instructions didn't explain it very well.
