This book by Luke Jonas maybe small but it packs a very strong punch. Mr Jonas has done an excellent job in writing this book and sharing some really great effects that your spectator will walk away amazed.

I was very fortunate to read early iterations of this book - Luke very kindly asked me to proof read the book for him and give feedback on the structure. The main focus was clarity and demystifying what can appear on the surface quite complex methods - I believe Luke has achieved this.

I also believe this is some of Luke's strongest work. For anyone who struggles with language or words, Luke has turned that fear some of us have into something empowering and the way he uses words to blow peoples minds is an absolute game changer to anyone who feels words are not for them. The book is extremely accessible.

My particular favourite theory is the Hangman Reveal which I believe is worth the price of the book and could be a whole separate project. There are also some nice additions from Luke's magical network.

I run a weekly zoom jam and have been doing so for a year and Luke has been there each step of the way sharing his incredible knowledge and also bringing in some fantastic speakers. He has made quite a name for himself as a creator, for some he might slip under the radar of big magic releases but don't miss this hidden gem.

Luke Jonas has done it again! Away With Words is a revolution in mentalism using word play. This book has a whole new approach to how we can reveal selected words during a mentalism presentation. He also gives great insight into how the magicians can give more impact to their audience through convincing acting and subtle scripting. If you want to discover the next chapter in prop-less mentalism Away With Words will be your key. I will definitely be adding a few of these effects into my shows.

An excellent book full of plenty useful insights and routines you can picture yourself doing as you read. You can tell how much care and effort has gone into it. I'm delighted.

Once again I've been lucky to get my hands on this book from the author himself. And I should have written this review some time ago. Well, life being what it is I'm a bit late but I still want to absolutely recommend this book. It's a great collection of effects using words and the connection between them.
It is really not limited to the english language. Most of the effects are quite easy to adapt to yours. There might be a limitation depending on the use of syllabaries instead of alphabets, but even then I think some of the ideas compiled here can be interesting.
Well written and filled with cool ideas.

I wanted to completely read this book before leaving my review, and I accidentally read through it twice before remembering to do so.. I really love the memory work he had put in this book, and Wayne Goodman's Power of Silence contribution is also amazing, but the real gold is The Hangman's Reveal. Honestly worth the price of the book on its own!!! If you haven't picked this up, I would absolutely recommend doing so before it sells out. Luke Jonas just keeps raising the bar, and I have no idea how he will top this one, with his next book!!

After reading Lukes first book ive been looking forward to more from him, and he absolutely delivered! His ideas are practical and entertaining. The book itself is extremely well written and easy to follow. This is a must have book for any mentalist!
