I have bought a number of Harlan's DVDs and VHS tapes in the past and found them to be very
informative BUT THIS ONE is the worst presentation and the most amateurish camera work I've seen of
all the 100s of tapes and discs I've perchased from numerous magic dealers. It was
shot in a
darkened and very dimly lit auditorium, while Harlan, was wearing black pants and a black shirt,
sitting back too far from the camera among dark colored theater seats, and was very difficult to see
well.
Rows of empty seats in the background and to the sides took up way too much space.
Often the steps were presented while his arm was in the way.
There were no very closeup
shots which could have been useful for a better visual presentation, and, Harlan talked too much
again.
I'm sorry I purchased this instant download and I'll be very wary of future Harlan
offerings.
Shame on you Dan for the shoddy work and I'm surprised that Penguin Magic doesn't
have quality control previewing before items are offered for sale.

Very bad video. Poor teaching. Hard to see what Harlan was trying to teach.
This is probably
the worse video I have ever bought from Penguin Magic ! !
$12.95 is a HIGH price to pay for
such a poor quality video.

I think the effect could be great, and it looks great, but it's impossible to tell how to do it from
this instructional video. I would avoid it at all costs!

I love the Torn and Restored Newspaper effect but this version isn't any better than Gene Anderson's
version. I would suggest you check out his version.

The technique may or may not be great...the whole thing is so badly filmed and the demonstrator so
busy trying to be "cutesy" through the explanation that it's extremely difficult to tell. Too much
noise to signal ratio in the explanation. I wish Dan had saved the slapstick for the performance
and just taught the trick without treating us like an audience.

The trick itself is very hard to learn with the way Dan Harlan teaches it......
Overall
Don't recommend it...

The quality of the video is not good however it does not interfere with learning the method..this is
a really great trick and I love this method.. you should learn this!
This is a very nice effect, there are many versions but I belive this one is one of the better
versions. The great thing is that you can either produce this effect on a stage or up close, very
rarely do you see effects like that.
I believe this was worth it and I a very happy I made this
purchase, I am trying to put a routine together with this so I can start performing ir, I know
spectators will love the effect.
I would say if you want a non card or coin effect that
spectators see all the time, this is the effect you need.
i hate how he explains. save your money and buy anderson's version on dvd. im very disappointed in
how he does it. its very sloppy and messy
this is a hrrible trick dan haarlan rushes through it and doesnt even explain it good.
pleassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!dont get this trick
