I purchased this product skepticle of the hovering.
It is practical and easy to perform. The Threads do last awhile if you are careful but I would suggest you buy a few packets of spider thread reels and a tin of Mesika wax. Landing the ring on the finger is VERY risky. I dont actually use the ring at all. Put your own spin on it. I do the hovering effect with light coins, bottle caps and I have even used a stick of gum. It looks amazing. Even in broad day light no one will pick up how its done. This is a finishing move that will get amazing reactions. The gimmick is delicate so make sure you store it in a safe manner. I personally use a little mints tin that a lot of people would carry around. Little do they know that in this tiny tin is something that can perform miracles. One last thing. I have read a couple of people have had issues with the gimmick not working. All I can say is to contact Mesika magic. They are very good as I had an issue with the Electric Touch and they gave me a brand new one. They will look after you. Did this review help you?

Ive been a thread worker for a while and this piece of equipment is absolute junk. Within one hour
of working with this gimmick it broke and after following the directions on the dvd to fix it ... it
would not fix. I've talked with other magicians in New York, Washington, and California and we all
agree... This is junk. It is not even worth $2. Just my opinion.

I've read a lot of reviews and have never worked with ITRs before. If you don't have the discipline
to practice, it will disappoint. I received mine last week and although I haven't done the hover
ring yet, the other effects that Yigal Mesika teaches can be hard hitters when mastered (subtleties
are important).
Yigal's teaching is amazing, every aspect of the gimmick (adjustments, problems, tips, subtleties) are well taught. The thread is surprisingly strong and managed to not break even when my sister decided to grab the "air" and pull just to make sure I wasn't using string (I was practicing of course). The Tarantula has been my purchase of the year so far and if you take care of your props, it will last for as long as you need it. Did this review help you?

Yigal Mesika's Tarantula is without doubt the best levitation device up to date. A design so
ingenious, it almost never fails, it's reliable and blows away people! Performed it at home for my
parents and eyes popped! This comes with a DVD with the teaching by the creator of the Tarantula
himself, Yigal Mesika. He shows in details a couple effects you can perform with his device. One
important thing you have to know about this device is that if you want to perform often or on a
daily basis you will need to acquire a couple of things sold here by Penguin. But nothing expensive
don't worry. It a trick that will need some practice and dedication to work but you will probably
experience a little frustration with it like I did but after I rewatched the DVD it explained what
to do to fix my problem so now I perform the effect almost flawlessly and enjoy it! So if you want
to animate or levitate all kinds of small object, Tarantula is for you! ADD TO CART!

What can I say about the Tarantula? Well, let me precede my review by first telling you that I'm not
the biggest fan of ITR's in general, and so this review may come with some bias.
That said, I really didn't like this too much. I've been on a quest for several years now to find the ITR to end all ITR's, and I thought when I saw this that Tarantula might be it! However, upon receiving it I found it to be like many other ITR's, complicated and inconvenient. The idea behind this particular ITR is genius, but in reality it is cumbersome and sometimes outright frustrating. In the very first day I spent a great deal of time just untangling the ITR and setting it up over and over again due to easy breakage. Also, you'll need to invest in replacement spools right away. In fact, if you are going to buy this now, I would recommend getting a replacement spool with your order. The biggest thing about this effect is that the method really isn't anything new. It's just a new way of concealing the ITR (which I do like). But the really amazing parts of the demo video isn't anything you can't do with any other ITR or just regular IT. It uses a hook-up method that's been around for ages. If you really like this effect and feel its a must-have, then by all means get it. Just be prepared for a lot of busy-work in the maintenance and prep of this device. It wasn't worth the hassle for me. It just wasn't practical. Did this review help you?

I love my Tarantula and have been exploring different things with it that I didn't even imagine
doing when I first got it.
Lets be honest, by far the most innovative, unsuspecting, versatile piece of magic of its kind. As an electrical contractor I'm always looking for things that pack small and play big. I cant walk into a clients establishment or home looking like I came to play games with a deck of cards or a magic bag. My tool bag is heavy enough! ...and to be honest I prefer to carry even less stuff with me when I journey the streets on my off time. I find the less you carry, the more disarming and normal you become. When exploring magic and especially that which may be perceived as supernatural, one must appear to be as natural as possible or else its too contrived. In shorts, flipflops and a T-shirt, the tarantuala allows for just that! I find that having one thing with me that allows me to do SOOOO many things, makes more sense than carrying a bunch of things. Quick and easy, in and out at your very whim... So clean! I have floored people, melted faces, earned clients, earned gigs, get discounts on things, get free drinks at places and have met more people and hot woman using the Tarantula than any other magic in my arsenal! (I own 2 just in case they ever run out or something) Thank you Yigal for always pushing the limits and possibilities within this very specific sect of the magic industry in which you are a master! Your a genius and a true lover and explorer of the craft! It may not be everyone's style of magic but if you do this type of work or have wanted to explore this type of magic, this is gonna be the safest, easiest and most profound way... get a Tarantula, practice, get good at it, and dare to tell me that this isn't the most impressive trick in your repertoire!! Im a mentalist. Im not searching for "floating" effects, rather PK movements.
When i bought the Tarantula, i think that i would use it as a way to move objects , but i find that Loops are more practical for my ideas. Also you need to use batteries... Did this review help you?

I just recieved it the other day, and it was a pretty smart gimmick, something that I would've never
thought of, but the gimmick is in pretty poor quality. After just, maybe three hours of practice,
the entire thing broke, despite I was being fairly careful, but the gimmick just stopped
working.
Also, Yigal says in the DVD over 25 feet of thread is included, however, all I got, was not more than, perhaps 10 feet, and this thread breaks pretty easily so everything I could pretty much do with this effect was to make a dollar bill levitate... yep, thats all you can do. I wanted this for the Haunted pack, but as I said, the thread breaks super-easy and you will look like a complete moron when you're performing it. I wouldn't either bother try and hover someones ring, since I told you, the thread breaks easily, and if it breaks while in mid-air and falls on the ground, you're gonna get alot of sh*t going... I would suggest you to get something else, don't let the "cheap" price fool you, as it did to me. Get Bill Abbots smart-ass instead... Did this review help you?

Buy this!!! This is worth the money. Watch all of the dvd
first. You will learn what to do if it breaks, it fixes its self. Now that's some real magic. This is great for close-up because people will never think twice about the method. It looks like real magic!! Did this review help you?
