Why was Jon Armstrong so excited by “Empty”? Because as a card magic specialist, if it doesn’t fit in his card box, he isn’t performing it. So to be able to do a full-deck production illusion without adding any extra props is a GAME CHANGER.

But Marcus Eddie’s ingenious “EMPTY” is way more than just a device to produce a full deck of cards.

Empty allows you to produce ANY OBJECT that will fit inside a card box. Empty can also be used as a transformation device to turn one item into a different item.

“Empty is more than a mere trick. It’s a utility device that is as devious as its creator” -Eric Jones

“The best thing I saw at Magic Live!” -Jon Armstrong

  • The deck is REAL. A full 52 cards.
  • EASY to do!
  • And resets instantly.

To take an object magicians have been handling for decades and turn it into a weapon is a marvelous thing.

Watch the demo and get Empty. You’ll love it.

Awkward Handling Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on November 23rd, 2011
I was very weary of getting a Marcus Eddie product because I remember being frustrated with his segments on Daniel Garcia's Five. I felt like he went over the steps of the tricks very quickly, often feeling left behind trying to figure out a convoluted movement while he's doing yet another re-cap of the trick.

This time around, Marcus has slowed down his teaching a bit. I didn't quite feel left behind while he was going over everything. However, I ran into another problem; the gimmick fell apart in my hands while I was following along with the explanation. It was easily fixed but frustrating, nonetheless. I should also point out that the gimmick comes in red only but you should be able to easily construct it in blue or green or whichever color you use.

My main problem with the overall handling is this: Marcus Eddie has humongous hands and I don't. The handling of the trick requires me to stretch and contort my hands in ways that aren't quite as comfortable or natural for me as they would be for Marcus Eddie.

The method is interesting. Marcus Eddie has a great personality. He's sly, smooth, and very bold. He's an incredible magician. His magic just is not for me.

I read a review about this item falling apart. After 1 week mine did also! The tape used to make the gimmick is in no way adequate.

Not practical Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on August 3rd, 2012
It is an ingenius little device. However, I just don't see using it much. There are a number of effects that I would much rather carry around than this one. For example, XBox is amazing! I would much rather carry around XBox than empty. Sorry.

Fell apart Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on January 9th, 2012
I didn't care too much for the trick when I got it because it was too difficult to do if you don't have big hands. But, with a lot of practice, I assume I could have gotten it to work. But, and most important, it fell apart the day after I got it....geeze, what a waste of money!

great trick but Report this review

Empty is a great trick, easy to perform, and gets great reactions, but for that price I wouldv'e expected more on the DVD. Such as how to make your own and maybe some more routines. Making your own gimmick isnt all that hard I even made a couple out of standard boxes. But all in all I'll give empty a solid four stars.

Creative! Report this review

I found this effect very creative in its design and imagination. The method of producing the deck is very smooth and something I would have never thought of. I really like how well the gimmick is made (don't forget to break it in as recommened on the DVD). This is an easy, no difficult sleights or moves, quick production that you will be performing. Highly recommended!

Very cool Report this review

Empty by Marcus Eddie is an amazing secret! It's one of those secrets that is so cool that you feel soooo cool performing it. It's soooo devious. Even if you don't perform the trick just knowing the secret is worth it. Very entertaining.

You can get very creative with this and produce anything that will fit inside a card case which gives you loads of possibilities.

It is angle sensitive. I don't know if I would be comfortable performing this in my restaurant gig or even a theatre show. Definitely something I would perform to a small group of friends or street magic for sure. You can show your hands empty before the trick and after you close the card case when producing the contents of the card case.

Great work Marcus! He's a very good teacher and goes over everything nice and slow and repeats key things many times

I didn't think i was going to like this. Penguin had it for sale in the "Cool Box" and i couldn't pass up that price to just check it out. I really like this ! Like others mine came apart rather quickly, a few minutes in actually but don't let that deter you. The fix is very simple and mine is still holding up perfectly since then. I have combined this with my Industrial revelation steel block for a very nice "Empty revelation". One second the box is empty and the next a 1 1/2 pound steel block is sliding out of it.
