This is a really nice effect, but at the same time, I'm a little conflicted about it. On the one hand, the reactions it gets can be absolutely great. It is also very easy to perform, and at the finish, you are absolutely clean and everything is examinable.

Generally, these criteria, reactions, ease, and examinability, are what makes a great effect. The big downside with this one is that the required move is very, very bold. I know many people will swear you won't get caught, but especially for a beginner, it will be a huge leap of faith to truly believe that.

So I guess this trick is all about risk vs. reward. When you do pull off the move, this is a killer. But if/when you get caught, you'll probably be thinking you should've been doing other effects that get reactions just as big, without being as risky as this one.

If you think the move is too bold for you, just turn around while the spectator is mixing up the cards. I do it without the gimmmick and it never failed.

I love this trick because the spectators ask "How did you turn the whole deck blank?!?" or "How did you know that would be the card I would think of?!?" depending on how smart they are, but both reactions are great =) I give this a 5 star. Many people have rated their reviews lower based on the fact that there is one misdirection during the performance, but 97% of the time no one will catch you. It takes place when the spec is mixing up the cards, so all attention is on the cards, but if you still feel uneasy about a trick with misdirection, just have the spectator turn around while he mixes the cards so "you can't possibly know where the chosen card is." I have never been caught, I just relax and perform this like any other trick. Don't let one small thing stop you from buying a trick this cool. Buy this if you thought the demo video was cool, and make someone else be just as amazed.

It is too big of a risk when you perform it. It's hard to carry the deck around. Im sorry but this trick is just not my cup of tea. Get the invisible deck it is almost the same trick but its easy.

I can never get over how bad I waste folks with this. I just love doing a bold move.

Look at them when they are not looking and fry them.

This is what it's all about ...

Best,

No Reason to be intimidated Report this review

There are a bunch of reviews talking about the "bold move".

There is no reason to be intimidated. It seems bold but it's not. Just do "the move" Simple as that. I'll tell you a story... 20 years ago a magician friend and myself saw this trick demonstrated by David Thornsen and we both bought the trick for $30.00... as soon as we learned the secret, we were intimidated and it went right into my junk drawer.

Fast forward 10 years from then. I met Dean and watched him do this trick at a convention about 20 times. Not only did it go right by the spectators, I would miss it half the time myself, even knowing what was going on!

You don't have to be a Dean Dill or a polished performer to pull this off. In fact, it's one of the very easiest things you could ever do. You just need FAITH.

This is one of the most awesome card tricks on the market. It really blows people away and has won the test of time.

I am a hobbyist with cards and have been doing and studying card magic for forty-five years. I never carry gaffs or packet tricks, great as some are, but I just prefer to work with one deck and one opposite colored card, to minimize what have to have with me.

BUT, this thing is just great. I agree with whoever said it leaves people stunned. The very smartest and analytical can eventually piece together what must have happened, but you are so far ahead, it doesn't help them. Normal, fun people are just speechless.

Those who think the move is bold are way behind :) No offense. But you could just about watch the move and be unable to perceive it, because of the psychology of what's happening. But, even so, all attention, including yours, is on the mixing of the four cards - you could load an elephant into the room during that. Folks who think this effect is too bold or you could get caught really ought to give it another chance. Don't cheat yourself out of this beautiful piece of magic.

Great Effect Report this review

This was one of my first magic purchases. The "bold" move that you keep hearing about is nothing to sweat. I did this effect as a complete beginner and never got caught. As advertised, you end clean. Not practical for strolling/walkaround however. I just hope they make the effect with Mandolin backed design soon. I contacted Dean Dill about the idea, but he didn't sound too thrilled. We'll see.

Don't Sweat It Report this review

Got this when I was a beginner. Performed it under skeptical audiences who were never afraid to call me out. I never got caught. You will need nerve at first if you are a beginner. If you're experienced, you shouldn't sweat it. As advertised, you end clean. Not a trick for strolling or table hopping. But good to have ready when those moments come up.
