This is a really nice effect, but at the same time, I'm a little conflicted about it. On the one hand, the reactions it gets can be absolutely great. It is also very easy to perform, and at the finish, you are absolutely clean and everything is examinable.

Generally, these criteria, reactions, ease, and examinability, are what makes a great effect. The big downside with this one is that the required move is very, very bold. I know many people will swear you won't get caught, but especially for a beginner, it will be a huge leap of faith to truly believe that.

So I guess this trick is all about risk vs. reward. When you do pull off the move, this is a killer. But if/when you get caught, you'll probably be thinking you should've been doing other effects that get reactions just as big, without being as risky as this one.

It is too big of a risk when you perform it. It's hard to carry the deck around. Im sorry but this trick is just not my cup of tea. Get the invisible deck it is almost the same trick but its easy.

Don't be intimidated Report this review

I love this trick because the spectators ask "How did you turn the whole deck blank?!?" or "How did you know that would be the card I would think of?!?" depending on how smart they are, but both reactions are great =) I give this a 5 star. Many people have rated their reviews lower based on the fact that there is one misdirection during the performance, but 97% of the time no one will catch you. It takes place when the spec is mixing up the cards, so all attention is on the cards, but if you still feel uneasy about a trick with misdirection, just have the spectator turn around while he mixes the cards so "you can't possibly know where the chosen card is." I have never been caught, I just relax and perform this like any other trick. Don't let one small thing stop you from buying a trick this cool. Buy this if you thought the demo video was cool, and make someone else be just as amazed.

A lot to carry for one effect Report this review

If you are thinking about getting Blizzard and don't have an Invisible Deck already, get the Invisible Deck. It's cheaper and much more versitile. Not the same effect but similar.

First time I saw this I bought it right away. It is one of the best effects I have ever seen. A card is freely chosen. All four suits of that number are removed from the deck. The spectator mixes them up and deals them out. Impossibly you pick out which one is theirs. Then the other three suits of that number are shown to be blank. Then the whole deck is shown to be blank. Everything is examinable. Unbelievable!

If you think "Invisible Deck" was great, you haven't seen amazing if you haven't seen "Blizzard". Think about this for a moment: what more can you ask for in a card effect that requires NO sleight, NO forcing, NO mechanical decks, NO funny moves, EVERYTHING is examinable, can be done close-up whether sitting or standing and can be done for street magic? It sounds too good to be true, right? Not with "Blizzard"! Put it this way - if the greatest minds of card magic were to sit together and create a list of the all time greatest close-up card effects, "Blizzard" would be among the top three. And what store is better to sell it at an amazing price other than Penguin...none. If you don't have "Blizzard", your card routines are definately lacking a reputation maker.

A Cold Day For Hecklers Report this review

AWESOME! That is the only word that can really describe this effect.

For almost 4 years I have used this principal for a few neat little effects, but nothing awe inspiring, then I bought Blizzard. Dean Dill takes this gimmick and pushes it to the next level.

This effect has fooled the best of of the best, and chances are if it fooled Paul Harris, it's gonna fool you friends and your worst hecklers.

Bottom Line: If you want powerful stunning magic, get Blizzard.

Blizzard is one of the best and most simple effects I've ever seen in card magic. It has easy preparation and execution, and it gets huge reactions. I suggest this trick in correspondance with B'Wave, a four card packet trick, or Limited Edition. Great effect - purchase now!

If you think the move is too bold for you, just turn around while the spectator is mixing up the cards. I do it without the gimmmick and it never failed.
