The Floating Rose by Kevin James
Out of stock.
The magician invites a lady from the audience to participate. He crumples a paper napkin into a little ball. It begins to dance on his hand and then up and down his arm. He then transfers his power to the spectator and she is able to command the ball to dance. He then opens the paper ball showing that there is nothing inside. The magician folds the napkin into a paper rose and the flower magically stands up on his open hand! It then floats right in front of the magician and the spectator. He then passes his hands around the floating rose and lights it on fire. In a flash, it visibly changes into a real rose!!! He then gives the rose to the volunteer as she returns to her seat.

This routine is simply beautiful and makes people gasp. It requires a lot of practice to make it seem effortless - if it doesn't look effortless, you're doing yourself (and this routine) a disservice. I practiced for 2 weeks.2 of 2 magicians found this helpful.
Everyone who has seen me perform this is astounded when the real rose appears in a flash of fire (you will need flash paper). It really is a magical routine, simple in its concept, but requires preparation and practiced execution.
I agree with the other reviewer who says you are limited in how you can move, especially where you can place yourself, but these limitations can be overcome by building the right gear and right jacket, or if you don't have those, then simply by operating in a known "secure" space such as a stage, a corner, or a bar where you are not surrounded. Ends clean.

It is a new dvd, made of an old dvd. Zo there is old material and new (added) material. And there is overlap between them, little bit boring. So it is not 5 stars for me.1 of 1 magicians found this helpful.
Ok, it is a great routine, well explained.
If you want to learn this routine, it is a good dvd.

This is a very beautiful trick and as close to real magic as you can get. Hopefully I'm not giving away too much but as with all tricks which involve IT you are restricted a little bit, but in this case I personally don't mind because the effect is so great!1 of 1 magicians found this helpful.

i just attended a Kevin James lecture where he presented this and thoughts and history of the technique. in the gala show at the event, he picks a young (5-8yo) girl to perform the effect with. brings a tear to your eye. sweet and fun all at the same time. i will definitely be working this into my routine.
