This spoon bending is great, I use it nearly every day, probably bending 90+ forks a month. Yes, I prefer forks. Pair this with Liquid Metal and you have a 4+ minute, jaw dropping routine. (BTW, I buy forks at SAM'S Club 36 for around ).
Yes, this is easy to do with thinner spoons/forks, as is ALL bending. It does take a little practice distracting people and you may need to build up a little muscle - but it is a wonderful bend. Anyone that says different obviously doesn't understand metal bending very well.
All spoons can be bent, but some really heavy duty ones take a bit more distraction, and you may have to use your thigh, and still not be able to get the same amount of bend. Remember, for your audience, dramatic bends say "trick spoons - not real magic". Slight bends say real "MAGIC". The nice thing about Chad's is that it gives the ILLUSION of bending right in front of their eyes, when the real work is done later (or earlier, if you prefer).
Not that great... Report this review

I don't think it was the product that was necessarily bad, but more the advertising. They advertise this to be a KILLER new cutlery bend, but honestly, the bend wasn't that great and that put more of an emphasis on the other two routines presented here.
I honestly didn't really like any of them; none of the routines on here are THAT original or THAT amazing... I can't really say I recommend this DVD for what is on it, and if you want to learn metal bending, go with something good like Liquid Metal or WGM: Metal Bending.
Not worth the money, not recommended.

This is a good DVD if you're at a place with cheap bendable silverware. Otherwise the spoon bending trick is a waste of money. I couldn't perform it with any silverware in my house. The coin trick is good, but available elsewhere. The rubberband trick is a waste. This was originally called Triple Threat, but was repackaged as Mind Bender. Interestingly the Mind Bender title isn't used even once in the vid. Save your money for something else.

I only bought this for the spoon bending routine, a visual bend where the spoon never leaves the specs sight. Yes it is everything it promises to be, ok so you need to practice the bend routine, but then there is nothing wrong with a bit of practice. I showed this to another magician and he was pretty stunned, even worse when I tried to show him what I did I repeated the move in slow motion, to this day he thinks that was meant as a joke cos he still didn't see the move.
As for the other 2 effects, the rubber band one is ok, takes about 2 minutes practice with the tape but the coins routine is 'hard' I don't intend being a coin-ition so I don't practice it but I still picked up the toss and catch LOL

This is an excellent effect. The spoon trick took me a day to perfect. I don't bend my house spoons though. I just go and buy some cheap 6 for a dollar deal at Wal-Mart. And you can use the stuff at some restaurants. Buy this. Coin trick is cool. Rubberband trick is a waste.
Good, but only 3 tricks... Report this review

The Spoon bend, a.k.a. the optical bend is a great spoon bend that is easier to do than any other bend that is impromptu. They can really see it melt and bend when you rub your finger on the handle!
The Holy Grail is an Amazing 3 coin production into a 3 fly into a complete 3 coin vanish routine. This one will take practice, but I love it... I might even like it more than the spoon bend which was the entire reason I bought the video!
The Rubber band trick (I don't even remember what it is called..) is a Terrible trick. When I got it, I thought I would like it because I really like doing rubber band tricks. Yes, it is easy to perform, but where is the trick? The move at the beginning is easy, but then it is covered up so that the spectators can't even tell that something is even happening when it happens... Anyway, there is also an optional part at the end that you can do... to this day, after watching it several times, I can't even tell what he is doing here and why people would think it looks magical...
I give this a 3.5/5 because the rubber band trick is really bad, and then there are only 2 more tricks, but they are very good.

The spoon bend is worth every cent to the close up worker. I do it all the time to college students, corporate work, to kids. You need cheaper silverware, - but that is the case with most bends. Husky silverware will not work. The Video "On The Spot" has a nice bend (but Chad's is better) for silverware that is too heavy for Chad's method. I use a fork and do a tine bend, then use Chad's bend for the handle (of the fork) , then finish it off by bending it back via paper bag. People are always blown away, and often I see them trying to do it themselves when I leave. The move is incredibly easy, the only real skill needed is acting. Bending is so different from what people are used to seeing, that it leaves a lasting impression.

This DVD is great. The spoon bending trick was good and the coin effect was cool, but the rubber band trick sucks. I think this dvd was great. Buy it.

This rocks. Just go to 99 cent store and ge some cheap silverware!
Impromteau and to the point.
Rubber band trick sucks, but oh well the spoon bend is worth the price!
The coin trick rocks and requires practice but it is worth it.
Just one comment: I went to a McBride lecture and he pointed out that we have to raise magic up to our faces. This video is a perfect example of how not to do this it is all a shot of Chad's crotch! Don't know how to fix this but it must be fixed!
Male Spoon Report this review

I'm from Indonesia, one of the most crowded country in the world. This bending perform is perfect. I did this surrounded by 8 people in 1 metre radius and still knock them out. But for my adult audience I said that I can prove this spoon is a Male Spoon, that is my favourite part when seeing the girl widely smiling by themselves without any sound. It's a jawbreaker trick. That's why I give 5 star. In Indonesia I can borrow any spoon, since almost everyone have the cheap spoon. Do this on party work anytime and any place. Good luck!!
