You can't go wrong with gaffed bicycle decks. There's too many uses to list. This is a top-quality bicycle deck not a Dollar store knockoff.

These cards handle the same as normal bicycles.
Sharpie works well on them and does not smudge. With a bit of exposure to air they will handle normally again if you cover each card with a lot of sharpie.
I used these cards to remake spreadwave deck. Worked well.

The sky is the limit. Do you know a lot of card tricks? Ok, but how interesting is it REALLY to tell someone they are thinking of the 7 of diamonds? With a blank deck you can make it much more interesting. I like using these for drawing duplications, but it could be anything. Write colors, animals, all 50 state capitals...whatever is interesting to you.

The possibilities are limitless. I have seen some great blank deck effects and one that I do enjoy performing is Gregory Wilson's Point Blank on his Pyrotechnic Pasteboard DVD found here at Penguin Magic. A 5 minute Ambitious Card routine that always gives a spectator a souvenir from your act.

I actually use these for my mentalism tricks; I get the spectator to write a name on them and then I use a centre-tear to get the name. So it's good for card magic and mentalism!
