I love Simon Lovell and his love for the art permeates through and through. If there is one thing
that you can learn of utmost importance is love for what you do. If you absolutely don't love magic
and its wonder, then please don't perform. Because that will definitely show. I gained an
appreciation for what our Art can do. The "Magic Story" in the end of disk one to me is worth the
price of this set. Get and you won't regret it.

If you are a intermediate card worker, get this. He teaches you a lot of usefull information and
skills/sleights. Even today, if i want to fool someone i would use a couple of his effects. Dont get
this if you plan to be preforming EVERY effect expecially in public. These effects are for the table
with a group of friends more or less. Don't get me wrong, they are very strong effects. It lost 2
stars because he uses more gimmicks than I expected and some of his tricks are ones that I would
never preform. All in All you learn some good matiral for the future... ADD TO CART.

I'm surprised by some of the recent negative reviews for this DVD set. But I guess I shouldn't be
surprised. Too many magicians are looking for showy 'look at what I can do' type trickery (take a
look at the rising of XCM). Simon's type of magic isn't about showing off, it's about entertaining.
The emphasis is on teaching and coaching STYLE - no easy task. No, these DVDs doesn't contain the
most innovative moves available, but it contains invaluable advice that applies to how you should be
approaching your craft and art. He teaches how to create truly memorable moments in his audience,
not how to fool fellow magicians. Penguin gives it a 'must have' award over Sankey and Wilson (and
their own excellent Born to Perform DVD, for that matter) for a good reason: it's THAT bloody good.

I got this set and was VERY impressed with a few of the effects... "Heartless", "Imagination"
"Packet Wallet" and "Another Departed Point"... They are really cool effects and had me fooled...
BUT I think that an intermediate to advanced magician may find that the methods of the remaining
effects are VERY familiar and unimpressive. Three of the tricks on the 3rd disk are just different
versions of the sandwich effect. I think that this DVD set would be great for a beginner since
Simon does a great job of teaching and is kind of amusing to watch. BUT, if you consider yourself
more advanced... I think that you might find yourself a little
disappointed.

Very very baddddddddd DVDs!
You cannot see Simon perform to real audience! And the tricks in these DVDs are easy but cannot make any surprise to anyone. The presentation of Simon is really mad (but not funny), you can't learn any presentation skill by watching him. Well there may be a few of good tricks - "matrix" and "radical ace" , but the routines of Simon are not outstanding, I see no point to buy this DVD set because of them. For this price, you can buy many better DVDs out there. Don't buy this DVD set unless you have too much money to waste . Did this review help you?
This is the DVD that made me switch from an Intermediate to an advanced magician. Most of the
sleights I knew already, but Simon added alot of tips so i could perform them flawlessly. The
teaching in this DVD is just awesome. better than anything i have ever seen.
I do agree that some of the tricks are basic but others are FANTASTIC! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE buy this DVD and become a better magician. I promise you will. Did this review help you?

I watched the video for this and I knew I had to have these DVDs. But when these DVDs came and I
watched the material I was amazed. I have done some of the material for people and they were more
impressed with the tricks off these DVDs than some of my trick decks. One of my favorite things
about these DVDs is that he teaches you how to make your own trick decks which at the end can all be
examined. There isn't one trick on these DVDs that I will toss aside. Another great thing about
these DVDs is as he is teaching he also teaches some nice flourishes that go well with the trick.
All inn all this set of DVDs is amazing and I guarantee you will be able to use almost all the
effects and get terrific reactions.

I would have to agree with the guy giving this DVD set a low rating. To begin with, the fact that we
are talking 3 DVDs kind of fooled me. Kind of makes you think that there is more value in here but
there isnt. Much of his tricks are of the "so what"-category. I would not write a negative review if
I did not think that it would just be wiser to save the money and buy something else instead. The
guy (Simon)...is one of those guys who consider themselves incredibly funny and ingenious, which I
did not agree to. Buy Jay Sankeys Revolutionary Card magic instead. This one will put you to sleep
and Simon possibly annoy you.

Simon is definately one of the most charming performers I've seen. He's witty, wild, and his odd
sense of humor is sure to get you laughing.
The content on the DVD set wasn't quite what I expected, however. There was much that I already knew from being into card magic for a little while, but there were still a few tricks that I found were excellent (Heartless, Lemming Ace Exchange, and the Namer). On a good note, though, there are some great pointers stuck in the explanations, and a lot of the material does not use stressful sleights that take forever to learn. In that sense, still a good purchase. Did this review help you?

Mr. Lovell gives Phenomenal advice. (Like all the books and videos you purchase, if you learn one
presentation and one trick that you use in real life situations, this is worth your time and money).
I am a full time entertainer and am finding his advice and little "odd" ways refreshing! This is a
Wonderfilled DVD! "Method behind the madness".
Thank you, A Fellow entertainer Did this review help you?
