The Wizard Flip Book is a poor substitute for the Magic Coloring Book. The change is hard to see and the pages don't flip very well. The book is small and the transitions are difficult to see. Very disappointing. Get the Magic Coloring Book instead.....

This trick is like the coloring book except there are old pistures in it. I saw this trick done in person and this magician had the book as a photo album of his family. It was really cool. I defintely think you guys should get.

Wizard's Flip Book: A great little prop Report this review

First off, let me say that this thing is pretty small, about the size of the cargo pocket coloring book. It also takes a lot more practice to handle well. But the work pays off, as this grinds the pocket coloring book into dust. Instead of only having three possible changes, it has around eight, making the trick unpredictable. The pictures change from blank to letters to animals to music notes, and a whole bunch of other things. It also looks really cool and has lots of possible patter. Overall, if you like the coloring book or do close up, get this.

I got this trick free with an order, and I think it's pretty neat! If you do it properly it looks amazing. It's pretty similar to the coloring book effect I think. For my price it was GREAT!

I really liked this book because of its old look, but I still think the trick is not that great. I don't think the book worth your 9.95, go buy the magic coloring book, it's the same trick, just better. Overall I give the book 7.5/10

Magical. Fantasy. Report this review

Great story prop. I like the fact that it looks old (and even smells musty). It looks like it came out of a fantasy story. I usually tell my audience that I got it from an old bookstore in England from an old wizard. I was amazed when I first got it because the pictures in it just kept appearing and there were more pictures than I expected. Fun trick to have.

This trick is great! It is not examinable at all. And this trick is not worth, so I'm glad I got this for free. This trick works the same way as the Magic Coloring book. Great pictures and lettlers, looks great.

Good "If Performed Right" Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 26th, 2004
After reading about this little book, I couldn't wait until I started using it in my repertoire. Upon performing it the first few times, I was a bit disappointed because the secret is so easy to see if you perform it close-up and in normal lighting; even kids can immediately see the how it's accomplished. The secret is to perform this bit of magic under dim light and several good feet away from the audience. This will hide what's truly happening. To really make the trick work well, use imaginative patter and practice in front of your mirror. Finally, don't be afraid to break the book in by bending the pages as you practice.

Magic Coloring Book Evolved Well Report this review

If the magic coloring book really did come from this, then kudos for it! I don't reccommend this at all. The gimmick is very obvious, and there simply aren't enough pages. The idea of having 8 transitions is overkill as well, making it hard to manage at times. If you want a changing book effect, the Magic Coloring Book is much easier to work with, and more convincing than this. I'll use the Magic Coloring Book, I won't use this Wizard's Flip Book.
I do feel bad about being so hard on Penguin, this is the first rotten item I've gotten from them. I personally can't complain though. I got it for free! :)
