I'm very disappointed in the overall quality of this prop. This is most likely a reproduction of a
very nice antique magical prop. The size is a little too small for the amount of material inside the
book. The gimmick is too large. People pick up on it very quickly.
You may be able to salvage this for specialized routines or modify the prop for other purposes. Did this review help you?

I received this as a freebie doing one of Penguin's famous promotions. I love Penguin's promotions,
but this is a very bad product. It is not well constructed and the pages are hard to flip. This
product should have never been offered to the magical community due to its poor workmanship.

I have bought dozens of tricks from Penguin Magic and have been very happy with them, but
this.....well, lets just say I was dissapointed. The gimick is SOOOO obvious and the book itself is
such bad quality that calling it a "Magic Trick" is an insult to magicians. I don't even know why
Penguin Magic is selling this thing.

The Wizard Flip Book is a poor substitute for the Magic Coloring Book. The change is hard to see and
the pages don't flip very well. The book is small and the transitions are difficult to see. Very
disappointing. Get the Magic Coloring Book instead.....

I shouldn't complain, I got this one as a freebie. However, I find it very difficult to use. The
gimmick is glaringly obvious at the distances which are required for your specs to see the pictures.
The artwork in the book is superb (hence the 2 stars), and I enjoy looking at them, it is just not
a useful Magic prop. Your money would be much better invested in any of the Magic Coloring Books
sold here at Penguin (i.e. the full size, the cargo pocket and the mini sized books).

If the magic coloring book really did come from this, then kudos for it! I don't reccommend this at
all. The gimmick is very obvious, and there simply aren't enough pages. The idea of having 8
transitions is overkill as well, making it hard to manage at times. If you want a changing book
effect, the Magic Coloring Book is much easier to work with, and more convincing than this. I'll
use the Magic Coloring Book, I won't use this Wizard's Flip Book.
I do feel bad about being so hard on Penguin, this is the first rotten item I've gotten from them. I personally can't complain though. I got it for free! :) Did this review help you?
Good "If Performed Right"

After reading about this little book, I couldn't wait until I started using it in my repertoire.
Upon performing it the first few times, I was a bit disappointed because the secret is so easy to
see if you perform it close-up and in normal lighting; even kids can immediately see the how it's
accomplished. The secret is to perform this bit of magic under dim light and several good feet away
from the audience. This will hide what's truly happening. To really make the trick work well, use
imaginative patter and practice in front of your mirror. Finally, don't be afraid to break the book
in by bending the pages as you practice.
