I use the heat from a small birthday candle to activate my wiregram. What's wonderful about this, in my opinion, a piece of straight wire is able to reveal the chosen card before the card is revealed or even chosen. Think of the possibilities using that for a minute, especially using 2 different shaped wiregrams allowing for an instant repeat.
