A cascade of transformations!

But why the hell did you decide to present this trick? The cards no longer obey you. They keep transforming in your hands. You no longer know where to turn and your spectators begin to wonder if the cards you present are not purely and simply diabolical.

Initially, you just wanted to take a trick with four 8s of Clubs. And there, disaster, you make the wrong magic gesture. The 8 of Clubs begin to turn over on their own, one by one, as if by magic.

Then, while trying to catch up, you accidentally change the color of the backs of the four cards. The backs were blue, everyone saw it! They turn red. The panic begins when you notice that all 8's are gone and you're only left with backs! More faces!

Little by little you resurface and, one by one, the faces return magically. Phew, you will finally be able to perform your trick.

It is then that you notice with amazement that all the backs of your cards have just been transformed. They are now all multicolored.

Just like you, your viewers will be totally amazed. You put away your cards saying that sometimes the magic is stronger than the magician!

Strong points:
- You can of course invent your own scenario, the trick lends itself to many situations.
- The cards are in Bicycle quality.
- So many transformations with so few cards, it's simply impossible!
- Dreadful impact on the public.
- Video link with detailed explanations.

I saw this trick performed, and briefly instructed, on the wonderful United Magicians for the World 2021 project. Since I saw and heard Alexandra Duvvier's presentation and instruction of her father's (Dominique Duvvier's) trick on Zoom at that event, I knew what I was getting into when I ordered this from Penquin. When I received the cards and link to the instructional video (it says "DVD" but it is actually a downloadable VIMEO video), I jumped right in. The demonstration video (58 seconds in length) and the instructional video (8:23 minutes in length) is performed in French by the masterful Dominique Duvvier with an superb English voiceover translation by Alexandra Duvvier. Both videos are visually well made. If you read this far, you may be wondering why I only gave this a 3 star rating? So, here are my personal problems I have with the instructions. First, it presents the main sleight required seemingly (at least to me) "reversed" from the way I learned this sleight for other tricks. And I am not saying that just because he is left handed. Second, his tutorial of the sleight is presented by doing it for a single card whereas this trick requires doing it with multiple cards. Such is hard to explain without revealing the sleight but I believe the explanation of the sleight would have been better if the tutorial part of the sleight's explanation used the same amount of cards as used in the trick instead of showing it with less cards. If you get this trick be prepared to watch the video at half speed several times unless you have significant experience with doing the main sleight with multiple cards. So, this review is only intended to let the less than masterful card handlers, like myself, know what they are purchasing. If you are willing to put in the time or are an experienced card handler, than add 1 to 2 stars to this review. For those performers, this trick is astounding opener.

This has become one of my top 3 packet tricks. (I know about 50 of them…)

Not for the absolute beginner.
But with an intermediate level and a few hours of training I can guarantee you that your spectators’ jaws will drop everytime.

The ending is real a kicker.
