You produce a fine mahogany hardwood rod and proceed to show it on both sides. The rod appears quite normal. Suddenly, a jewel appears embedded in the middle of the rod. It then magically travels from the middle to the end and back again, and finally splits into two jewels, both embedded in the rod. As quickly as they appeared, the jewels vanish without a trace.
