The switch is good. Mentioned in other material, such as Allen Zingg's and Docc Hilford's DVD's, but with unique gesturing as misdirection.

The one thing I had difficulty with was the read. It's not easy to accomplish if you have small hands.

Most people who rated this highly don't seem to know too much about billets or billet switches. In this method, you switch the billet and then peek at it secretly. That takes away the positives from both a peek and a billet switch. A billet switch is a utility move. In classic Anneman routines, he never uses a billet switch like this download teaches. Most of his routines with billet switches use them as switches, not as peeks. There is one that I can remember that does use a switch as a peek--but he unfolds a "different" billet RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SPECTATORS. No secret moves need to be done in it besides the switch itself. And then there are routines that require a peek. I use a tear; I have a presentation that explains why I need to tear it up. There is another peek that I have used called the Acidus Novus. Many of you are probably familiar with that from the Stigmata DVD. both of these peeks have the advantage of using only one billet all of the way through, and all of the sleight of hand is out in the open. In this download, the peek that is used after the billet is switched is risky because it's done with the billet that the spectators don't know exists. You might be thinking to yourself, "Why don't you just use one of the peeks that you mentioned earlier?" Well, you can't use a tear with a secret billet. Then, you can't use the Acidus Novus peek because it requires two hands. You're forced to use the peek taught in this download that is risky and inefficient. Of course, the other option is to just use a standard peek from 13 steps or an Anneman book and not waste your money on this download.

I've done this trick for about a year now and I love it. No one catches the move and its super easy. It was a lot of help for "into the Abbess" with it's freedom for the spectator. You can let them do whatever they want with it. This trick is one of my favorites from Luke Jermay and is really worth the money.

even though i've worked with billets & centre tears for some time, i always enjoy the opportunity to improve my work by getting to see other experienced mentalists "do their thing"; this one is clearly explained & thought out loud so that you can follow just how someone else does what so many of us do! of particular interest was the low-light suggestions, something we all face at some point! nice!

I bought, some time ago, Stuart Cumberlands updated (ebook/pdf) version of Annemann's 'Complete One Man Mental & Psychic Routine' 2005

An excellent product that I highly recommend you get your hands on!

Now here's the thing, I've never ever performed the act due to the second and the last routine of the act which consists of billet switching!

Now even though Mr Cumberland provided excellent instructions as to how to go about the switch I had a few problems that remained...

1. I couldn't get to grips with folding the 'billet' twice one way and then once the other...my mind kept on screaming "what the hell?; who on earth folds things like that?"

2. Mr Cumberland suggested two alternatives instead of a billet switch...both of which I also couldn't get my head around. (I can't name them otherwise I'll give too much away)

So when I finally purchased Luke Jermay's Billet Switch, it's the answer to my prayers.

Instead of instant reveal center tears or weird folded billet switches or even weird placed writing, (no, this one goes right in the middle), this is THE ULTIMATE REVEAL for what a volunteer has written down!

Mr Jermay explanation is so a. b. c. that I think that even my three year old son could follow it.

What's more it resets automatically and therefore it's immediately repeatable.

Good way to peek at what spectator wrote. Personally i think it's better than a center tear because tearing it up it sorta unnatural. Luke also goes over bunch of switching out. Very simple move takes like 10mins to get down.

First, anything by Luke Jermay is gold. If you are new, or interested, or already working with billets, this inexpensive video will help you, if only to get a cursory glimpse into how an expert like Jermay handles them. Though I would not use this particular read, his subtleties and advice are worth seeing. Buy it just for the Barrie Richardson billet switch which Jermay demonstrates, if not for any other reason.

Billet work has always unnerved me, but this is good. Very relaxed, effective switch and peek. Brilliant.
