I have been watching Blaine on tv nearly all my teenage life. His tricks inspire and amaze me, and as this book is an autobiography, it lets you see the thoughts of how these effects came together, and also the suffering he had to get to where he is today.

5 stars all the way.

This is one of many books I own.

It always helps to understand the origins of famous routines. Magicians will benefit from some of the content in this book. It is not a how-to book.

If you're like me and like to read, try reading this one. I really enjoyed reading how he got started and how his career really blossomed. As a bonus, he also teaches you a few basic tricks that you can use in your own routine as well. The book itself is really good quality. Better than any mass market novel you'll buy.

As others have said, this book isn't a book that teaches you how to do magic, but there are a few tricks within it. This book is mainly a biography of David Blaine and a great insight into his mind, and the way he thinks. It's a great read and well worth the time and investment. You will NOT be disappointed!

I didn't get this on penguin I got it at a book store. But this is probably on of my favorite books. And no, it is not a trick book. it's more of a biography of magic. But still, an awesome book!

?This book is not so much a trick book as a book about himself and the history of magic. There's some tricks in here, including one that Alain Nu performed. Overall, this is a great book.

If you want to get a book of tricks, then don't get this. There are about four tricks in this book, three of which are pretty stupid card tricks, and one is an all right card trick. If you want to know all about David Blaine and who he is, then this is the book for you. Near the beginning there is a little bit about the history of magic which is also pretty interesting. This isn't the type of book that I like, so I gave it three stars, but if you really want it, go ahead and get it.

The book is awesome and very interesting. I've been searching all around the net for David Blaine bios and stuff and I finally got the real thing from Blaine himself! You can learn some good tricks here, but he doesn't really reveal his street tricks that much. Blaine gives us a history lesson on magic and that was something I was really into so I found this book to be awesome! Definitely 5 stars, buy this!

This is a great book. It doesn't tell you secrets to good card tricks or levitations, but it gives you history on cards, Houdini, Magic, And most important, Blaine! I enjoyed reading this book and you will too!
