I get so excited when I see a new trick like this. So slow.. so visual. Yum. Definitely adding it to my restaurant act.

It could be the only rubber band trick everyone should learn. That sounds bold, but HERE'S WHY:

1. Purely visual. No language barrier. Working pros know why this matters.
2. EASY to learn. Usually with rubber bands, the better the trick, the harder it is. Not this time!
3. SLOW. I get so excited when I discover a visual trick I can do slowly. Crazy man's handcuffs is great, but if you don't have quick fingers, it can be tough. Plus you gotta keep those bands moving.
4. Multiple phases means you can get as much entertainment as you want out of it. Need a 5 second trick? You're set. Need more? Keep going!
5. The "secret moves" are impossible to catch. In the traditional crazy man's handcuffs, you need to do the dirty work out in the open. Great trick, but the heat is on. In Stretching Time, they can take their magnifying glasses out, they'll never see what happened.

PROFESSIONALS: For years now, anytime I'm out, the one trick I RELY ON to entertain on-demand is crazy man's handcuffs. When I've forgotten my gear, I just say "Yeah, do you have any rubber bands?" Great.. but after I do it, of course they want more. They love CMH, but it's a 2 second trick. Stretching time is the perfect pairing with CMH. It seems even more impossible, so personally I do it after, and it gives me at least another couple minutes to goof around with them and have fun.

Check it out, you'll love it.

Stretcing MY Time Report this review

Though my manipulation skills have declined from age, I found the FIRST HALF of "Stretching Time" workable enough even for a geezer like myself. Above average, even. However, the SECOND HALF was another story, completely. Even Mr. Hauss says that you need to know "another effect" to really understand it fully. I DID NOT KNOW THIS. The first part can be done as a stand-alone, but the incomplete nature (for me) leaves me wishing that the entire explanation was explained, but is only BRIEFLY skimmed over. Because of its only fractional explanation, I rate it only 3 stars.

I just want to Say i don't think this is an improved way of doing crazy mans handcuffs. the ad does not show him trying this on people. The angles on this are only straight on you could not walk up to a group of people and perform this effect. The video is edited from after you make the rubber band go through the other, In order to pull it out again you have to drop your hands for a second. he justifies this action by relaxing and people thinking the effect is done, then he adjusts and pulls is back through. To me that's not a clean performance. Yes your taking advantage of misdirection but it's not in line with what the video shows how the performance goes. There is much better rubber band trick videos you can buy. I don't believe this one trick videos is worth it. even though it's cheap. I believe Dan hauss should of made a DVD with multiple rubber bands tricks. Not putting out one trick at a time for a piece.

That's about all I can say about that in the title,.. just "yeah!"

Yes, the video DOES cut out an important "get ready" but that's understandable n this case,. it can be done right under people's noses without getting caught. Haven't tried it yet, but have gotten way with away with a lot worse. Although I already have a follow up to the Crazy Man's Handcuffs, I could see this being a perfect follow up as, well as a lead in.

At a cheap intro price, ease of execution, this is a highly recommended download. One of the only one's I haven't been disappointed with in a long time. Already being a great fan of Dan's work in general, this one didn't fail to live up to it's reputation. This is practical, real world stuff that can be performed only after a short bit of practice. It's a visual stunner so it has mo language barrier as it's completely unnecessary to speak. Perfect for any close up situation as it's all done in the hands all while framing the face. Angles are only sensitive as people start to get behind you, they're are perfect I would say at about 100 degrees directly in front of you.

Overall this is a great effect that you should have in your repertoire and can be done at a moment's notice as long as the situation is right and completely impromptu, considering you have or can find 2 rubber bands to use (That's if you're not like me or the 100's of other magicians out there who tend to keep a bunch of them around your wrist a all times. no matter where you are anyway)

Let's see, I mentioned, practical, real world worker. simple to learn, visual,... Yeah!!!

Get it, learn it, keep it for those special instances, perform it well, watch your angles (from behind) and you'll have an amazing segway to or from any of your favorite rubber band routines, or just a sand alone effect for those people who don't have the time to give for anything more.

I love it, and it's going straight into my everyday repertoire within the next few days. Once I've got it down completely. I can do it, but still a little fumbly with it. Not sure if there's anything I haven't mentioned, so feel free to comment at me below. Enjoy, and remember to have fun with your audience. So many magi these days buying these tricks expect things to work for them with no practice and without having to engage with their audience enough to steer their attention away from them for just a fraction of a second in order to get a "secret move" of some sort done. Like the one on here, then I see them on here using the review section to prove how lazy and terrible they are at magic and how much worse they are at putting in the work it takes to be a great magician. Remember people, it's you who provides the magical moment for the spectator, not the trick itself, the trick is just a catalyst. You must always practice hard, and work for their attention, even after you've gained it, even harder! Stop blaming the tricks for your lack of showmanship, or desire to better yourself. MAGIC IS A PERFORMANCE ART, THAT MEANS, PRACTICE TIL IT'S MUSCLE MEMORY, REHEARSE THE EFFECTS SO THAT YOU CAN MOVE THROUGH THEM SEEMLESSLY. AND DON'T GET TOO BIG HEADED, MOST PEOPLE HAVEN'T SEEN A MAGICIAN UP CLOSE SO DON'T LET THEIR COMMENTS GET TO YOUR HEAD!!!

Much Luv and respect to all

Stretching Time = WORTHY sequel to Crazy Man's Handcuffs!! Report this review

Crazy Man's Handcuffs was one of the first magic tricks that I learned. It's a trick that I still perform to this day. It is such a great trick to know, because where there are rubber bands, you have an illusion you can perform. Think about that... The cashier at any store has rubber bands, which you can ask to borrow and then perform an impossible trick with. Well, if you do CMH's, then you MUST get this download. (And as Dan says, if you don't know CMH's, go learn that NOW!) If you follow up CMH's with this trick, I believe it will make your CMH's routine that much stronger, and that much more impossible. This is quick to learn, although that said, you will definitely want to put in the practice to make it smooth. There is definitely a moment that had me grinning ear to ear in this routine. It's very clever! Also, for all of your friends that have seen you do CMH's, now you can breath new life into it by saying "Let's do it a bit differently this time". The video itself is nice and long and doesn't rush the teaching. Dan is a skilled teacher and goes over everything you need to know. I would recommend this effect!

Yes, this is going into my repertoire, but I would be disappointed with this purchase if I did not already know the crazy man's handcuffs. I do not like purchasing items that might require me to purchase more items.

At last, a worthy mate for the "CMH"! Absolutely stellar! Nice work Dan, this looks really, really good. The trick will take a bit of work but nothing too intense. Anybody doing CMH for a while will have no problems getting this up and going. This really is the perfect trick to couple up with CMH, haven't seen better! Nice work everyone, a wonderful, fooling piece of close-up magic. I have performed CMH probably well over 1000 times and it never fails to amaze... but this is an excellent addition! Peace, Don

Dan has the created the perfect companion rubber band effect to perform with the crazy man's handcuffs! This effect is simple, well explained and works beautifully on it's own or exceptional well with other rubber band effects. You won't be disappointed but will instead be performing this right away!

Good enhancement of an old idea but angles are not perfect if people is on your side so for me it is quite difficult to create an ideal presentation situation.

Worthy of Crazyman's Cufflinks Report this review

This version will make laymans equally rubbing their eyes! Instructions are clear and succinctly covered. The ONLY issue I wanted info was best type rubber band. It says "any rubber bands" so I grabbed a couple on my office desk, which were not as stretchy and pliant as in those in the demo. It is a minor issue (I will search Office Depot 😉 for the best action!)
But I loved that this effect can be different color bands, and that options to allow spectator to have a finger in the penetrating band (alternate handling on the purchased video). Totally more than the value of the price tag! Definitely a "winner" if you are a worker!
