I'm only half way through this book and can already tell that it's gonna be an amazing investment in my magic and performing career. It's packed with great information, some of it very telling. Sankey is careful not to reveal too many magic secrets, but at the same time he reveals things about the magic community and magicians in general that need to change. I'm going to ask the rest of my family read this book because it has so much valuable info on performing and human nature that I think anyone who does any work in front of an audience needs to know, not just magicians.

Beyond Secret's has been one of my favorite books to read up on every now and then for a refresher course on all the aspects of magic. And when I mean all aspects of magic, that is literally what the book is jam packed with.
If you happen to have a huge collection of magic effects, but are not certain how you should perform them or whom to perform for? All of that is covered in the book, and a ton more.

I've only read the first 24 pages and already I know it's goin to be an awesome ride in Sankey Land. I thought the book was going to be a huge thing, but it's the size of a DVD case (not that it affects anything, but it makes the reading a little less intimidating for those who don't really enjoy reading that much like me) I can't wait to finish the book and absorb all the insight Sankey has to share with us!

This book is the most interesting and informative book on the art of magic that I have had the pleasure of reading.
Most magic books offer little or no advice on how to connect with your audience and how you wish to be presented etc., they merely churn out pages of laborious and unorigional routines and tricks and all the usual slieghts that you know.
If you're at the stage where you want a magic book that offers you more than this, that offers you a deep look into yourself and where your magic fits in with the world then this is the book you need.
I gave this book 4 stars because some of Jay's advice could have been a little bit more direct, I felt that some chapters had one useful sentence that was watered down to make a paragraph. Other than that, this is a great book and a must for the magician that wants to learn something about magic other than tricks.

This is one of the best books on the "art" of magic i've ever read. The book gives you loads of information, but best of all, it really encourages you to think and decide how you will view and utilize magic. Buy it.
