mentalism

Hello, I am Emma Wooding and These are my lecture notes for 2017. In these notes there are nine effects.

One Envelope Test: An easy and direct drawing duplication. The spectator draws anything, they then place it inside an envelope, the mentalist shows front and back of the envelope and places it away. The mentalist is then instantly able to divine the thought of drawing.

The Mirror: A stunning piece of Propless Mentalism using tic-tacs. You will perform this wherever you go.

Human: Propless Mentalism using Lego blocks. The spectator thinks of a color of a lego block, how many points on top and a structure that they can build. The performer is then able to divine all three pieces of information.

Vale: One of the easiest ways to force a playing card suit. This is a principle that also allows you to force a random word. No eqvioque is used and it is 100% propless.

Complimentary: A spectator writes two completely different things on two slips of paper and the mentalist is able to divine both pieces on information.

Tight Smile: A mentalism effect using time and the spectators phone.

Express Click: A beautiful routine where a spectator thinks of a number and the mentalist is able to divine the number.

ACAASH: Any card at any super hero. A spectator thinks of a card, and names a super hero. The performer deals down one by one, spelling the super hero as they do. The performer turns over the card and it matches the spectators thoughts! But here is the kicker, on the card written is the super hero they just named! This effect has an instant reset which makes it perfect for the walk around performer.

Deactivation: The spectator thinks of the type of coffee they take and the mentalist is able to divine, how many sugars they take (if they take any) and the type of coffee they take.

Bonus Ideas: Five bonus ideas, including how to build and create a character, new insight on readings, how to construct psychological forces and a brand new multiple out principle!

This PDF isn't just something you will pick and and read. This PDF will inspire you, it will challenge you to see how you can change you're performances and you're style.

All the effects are specifically designed for the performer on the move. That way you don't need massive or odd looking props!

I'd never heard of Sam Wooding before so I was initially skeptical having been burned on ebooks by unknown so-called mentalists--and hearing Paul Brook's voice in my head about the evils of propless mentalism. (This is a reference to his Ask Paul podcast episode about the subject. If you are a serious mentalist, you owe it to yourself to listen to Paul. Even if you don't agree with him, his thoughts are brilliant.) I opened the PDF fully expecting to have wasted my money.

But boy was I surprised. There is so much great, usable stuff here. And all of the propless material is of the quick-hit variety. There is not a long-winded procedure or pumping event in sight. (Paul might even approve.) I especially like The Mirror (I have my box of tic-tacs right here next to me), Human, Vale (I had never seen this psychological force before, and it's fascinating), and Tight Smile.

Of course, this material is not for everyone, especially beginners or someone who wants surefire methods. But I was pleasantly surprised, indeed VERY pleasantly surprised, by how many creative ideas are in this little ebook. (I do have one complaint, though: poor proofreading. I understood the material, but the random capitalization and poor punctuation was a distraction.) You'll know if it suits your style, but if it does, I know that you'll be using and thinking about these methods. Bravo!

No I’m not. The material is poorly written, scantily written, and quite frankly not worth $25. I’m kicking myself. This honestly reads like a parody of a psychological mentalism book.

Oh my goodness, the version of the name and place routine is brilliant.

No words can express how much I have learnt The best effect here is definitely ACAASH. It's so smart and self working and I love it. This goes straight into my walkaround set.

Sam Wooding Lecture Notes 2017.

I mainly purchased this for the propless mentalism as I am a big fan of prop free mentalism. And I must say I was not dissapointed. The Lego effect has gone straight into my walk around set and so has the tic tac effect.

Vale seems interesting, I haven't tested it out yet but it seems clever and very different to previous methods for forcing suits.
