Bill Abbott's "The Thing" Upgrade Kit

I recently purchased part of a magician's estate, which included an original version of Bill Abbott's "The Thing." I know that he's since released an "Upgrade Kit" to upgrade the original version to the newer "Platinum Edition."

Does anybody know if the Platinum Edition actually adds any hardware? The description mentions new music, new handlings and new insight, but doesn't say anything about changes to the actual apparatus.

I know that this is currently out of Penguin stock, but I thought that somebody might know. Thanks for any insight you can lend!
