Can you use any credit card for this trick?

Yes, with 'chips', those embossed numbers are soon to be history.
Hasn't had any smaller usage effect on my wife however...
Now, that would be a great trick.

Yes, with the one requirement that the credit card have actual embossed (stamped) numbers.
Now, these stamped numbers on all cards are going away...they are unneeded for the way credit transactions are generated today.
In fact, in my money clip, none of my cards have embossing of any type.
