Candidly, you are willing to make a commitment (spend money) for some pricey utility devices. That's a good thing - that you have the options.
I assure you, I've got some pricey stuff too...some worth it, some, eh, not so much.
Anyway, got off point.
Since you're still learning, scour the web for YouTube videos and other printed material that cover everything regarding I.T. so that you can become informed about the stuff e.g. how to tie the thread (make your own damn Loops), how to strengthen it, which materials work best, yada yada yada
That's all 'public domain' info which should be, and is, free.
Then, decide what's best for you.
You've probably already realized that the thread lends itself to some fun effects...once you get the handling techniques down.
