Mind Power Deck - Fishing Required?

I have seen two descriptions of the basic MPD routine (revealing a thought-of card). In the first (promotional), the performer asks no questions and simply guesses the thought-of card. However, some reviewers say that multiple questions/guesses are required to determine the card. Which is correct?

The original published effect for Mind Power Deck did use some very basic fishing. The new routine with Rick Lax however uses NO fishing.

You can use either the fishing method or the Rick Lax method. Rick has taken the guessing game out and makes it very simple to do mechanically, just concentrate on the presentation. Hope this helps!

I accidentally voted a negative on the following but it actually helped me to go and purchase it, sorry.
