P.O.V. Pad

This is described as a special gimmicked (but tiny) Post It note pad.
The spec writes on it and pulls off their sheet, and apparently can keep it.
At $50, that is expensive, so my question is:
Are less expensive refills available, or are you shown how to make your own?
Or, without tipping the secret ('natch), do you simply add store bought Post It note pads and add sheets to the pricey gimmick? Thanks folks.
