Actually, Josh is correct! After you bounce the ball, with the little added something, you are completely clean and the ball CAN be handed out to spectator, cuz the switch already happened. Both hands are empty.

This is what makes Nathan's choreography so great. As soon as you bounce the ball, both hands are clean and the ball can be handed out for examination.
