The Executive Clip vs. Ostin Clip

Chris Funk's "new" Executive clip looks a heck of a lot like the classic Ostin Clip. How simular are they?

Sure looks like a very expensive knock off of the Ostin Clip sold by Ed Carlyle.

Just got the Executive Clip and realized that for those of us who work (or store our props) primarily in the Southwest (of the US, not Cornwall) this is the sensible choice over, say, the Ostin. Here in the desert, elasticized products (balloons, rubber bands, even sponge balls) have very short lives, sometimes just months. This is cryptic, I know, but more would go to the method.

I agree. Looks just like the new style Ostin Clip. Even down to the presentation hanging in the jar. I really hope that Ed Carlyle is acknowledged in creating this, otherwise it does appear as a blatant copy.

Come on Magic Yoda, really? "Simply, Chris wouldn't rip someone off." Where were you with the One-Dollar Mystery Comedy Confabulation issue? I'm glad that was settled and they came to terms, but there is a history.

The issue I see is the visual of Ed's Jar routine used in his sales video for the Ostin clip and Mr. Funk using the same imagery on his.

Saying it's a new style Ostin Clip is fair from an appearance perspective.
However, the methodology of how the utility works is different.
That should be somewhat obvious also...
Simply, Chris wouldn't rip someone off.
The method is everything.
