the favourite cards of my friends

Hi, i was wondering how easy this trick is to perform. Does it require difficult sleights and can beginners do it? also, is there a lot of set up required and can it be done with a shuffled deck? can i even use a borrowed deck? thanks!

I would say that this trick could be learned by a beginner with a bit of practice. The moves themselves are simple -- barely even slights, more like clever card handling -- but you must be able to perform them fluidly and casually, with confidence. You should be able to do the moves while not looking at the deck. Rafael's explanation is a bit rushed (a good pace for intermediate card handlers), but he explains everything well, including "what if" situations.

You can, but I would advise against it. There is a subtlety that the specs may catch on to. One of the top rules in magic is, "Never show the same trick twice." This definitely applies here.

The trick can be performed by a beginner. There are no difficult sleights to perform, and he explains everything in a lot of detail.

And yes any borrowed deck of cards will work, so long as its a full deck of 52

Can this be repeated to the same crowd with a different pair of sandwich cards?
