the imaginary ball

I don't exactly know what the effect is for the imaginary ball by matt melo.Can somebody tell me?

The effect is very subtle: The performer has an audience member close their eyes and an invisible ball is dropped from the air. The audience member (with eyes still closed) can sense when the ball is dropped without any noise or visual cues and reacts to the ball landing in their hand.

I tried this at IBM meeting. Volunteer was so helpful that she said she felt the ball even before I used the gimmick.
