Vanishing Pen

Hi
I'm not familiar with this trick, so was wanting some info. I'm assuming there is a pen/gimmick and a regular pen. So can the actual pen/gimmick be examined beforehand or does a switch need to take place before the vanish, from regular to gimmick?

Also what is required to ditch the gimmick after it is vanished? I would think just tossing the napkin or bag away afterward would have people wanting to examine everything.

The DVD covers how to switch the real pen for the gimmick pen.

As long as your produce the pen somewhere after the vanish, there will be no heat on the crumbled up napkin.
