Pure Effect by Derren Brown...if you can get your hands on a copy. And if you're into complex card magic and great writing, Guy Hollingworth's book is fantastic. 13 Steps to Mentalism---LOTS of ideas in there, even if you're not a mindreader.

A lot depends upon your particular interests, skill level, etc. It's like asking what type of food is good. It depends upon you. There are some amazing books in magic. If you ever need specific help the Penguin customer service team can help to get you good answers for YOU.
