If you're in a bind I've found that you can easily reload the spool with Kevlar. I've had no luck with wooly nylon but the Kevlar will spool on nicely. The wooly nylon will spool ok but then it jams when trying to use your Mesika device. I haven't tried it but I suspect Fearson's thread bullets would spool nicely too.
