It's a great act in itself.
As with any effect, how good it is depends on the performer himself...or her.
Scott Alexander is very good!
If you're searching for a 100% safe Russian roulette routine for an 'act', you should consider this.
It is pricey and if you're a professional performer, this is a great investment for this type of effect for your stage act.
If you're a hobbyist or below, give it some thought.

The method is very safe, what you are paying for is
the secret “keeping it safe” spiked is an alternative,
