I thought I knew how this was done and my speculation was correct. However, I bought it because
statements in the description, the trailer, and even a response to a question seemed to prove me
wrong.
The contrary facts are: the cup has NOT been "sat on the table from the start;" it
does not work with "ANY take-away cup" specifically Styrofoam; and, from the questions asked, it is
said there is "no problem letting them (the spectator) keep the cup." From what is taught on the
video, this is not an option.
For the price of this effect, it's a good value. But these
inaccuracies disappoint me!

Thanks for the constructive feedback there and I will get the team to be more specific on the ad copy.
The cup has been sat on the table from the beginning. You may have to touch the cup but you are drinking from this object anyway so that is certainly not suspicious.
All mainstream coffee shops sell coffee in paper cups. Cafes and kebab vans are likely to use styrofoam and so going to any coffee shop where they recycle you won’t have any issues.
As for keeping the cup I have let them do that. And more specifically in the answer I gave the gentleman who asked that question I said that Ken Dyne has made a video and will be putting it up in the next few days with some killer subtleties to this effect.

You’re welcome my friend. Remember that the spectators memory is what is importnsnt. There is no heat on the cup because you haven’t even mentioned it until the reveal.
Give it a go and check out your library in the next few days for Ken Dyne’s video and all your worries will be resolved.
Also hope that you will come back and give it an extra star once you’ve tried it and seen how strong this effect is :)
