Dani DaOrtiz is an amazing magician. Get some of his other lectures (especially the first). This one
is not his best. He speaks of being tired and hungry throughout the lecture and I think it shows in
his magic. The good tricks he doesn't really teach, the ones he does teach are long and not all that
great. This lecture was out of character for this guy.
That being said, there are some
ideas in here that may be of interest to you...
1) If you really like ACAAN concepts, Danny
teaching a concept of card counting and memorization that you may be able to incorporate in other
illusions. It lets you appear to have memorized a shuffled deck when you haven't. I had never seen
this concept before and found it brilliant. If you have a good memory for counting and remembering
several cards, it might be perfect fo you. Personally, I think his ACAAN tricks in the first lecture
were more practical.
2) He offers some clever thinking on the top change, which is
notoriously hard to do in surrounded situations. Danny does it with ease and he may give you some
tools to figure out how to do the same.
3) He offers some ideas on forcing a card. His
psychology force is hard to teach as it relies a lot on the personality of the performer, but
DaOrtiz does a commendable job trying to convey the idea of what he does.
If those three
things are of interest to you, this may be worth the $20-30. If not, I'd move on to other lectures
of his.
