In the advertisement he says you can immediately hand it out after you fix the missprint NOT TRUE
,you do not see a one continuous card trick ,this is edited about half of the trick ,it wasted all
my time .I feel cheated......
I understand the frustration but I felt that this was pretty obvious. Even seeing the trailer, I knew there had to be a switch and Im sure many others would agree. False advertising aint cool but It happens a lot. I wouldn't worry about this too much.
There is no excuse for misleading ad copy. You can NOT hand out the card immediately. Some kind of switch is needed. Penguin should refrain from this kind of swindling. They are better than that.
None the less this is a powerful trick. I wouldn't listen to this negative review, this is an incredible effect with everything you need to perform (minus the deck of cards). The teaching is well done as well. Highly recommended.
I appreciate the heads up. While the trick doesn't say "examinable" saying it can be handed out implies that it is. Hell all tricks can be handed out if a great switch is utilized. Add me to the club that hates edited videos.
I’m sorry but no place in the ad does Nock say it can be examined. As was said earlier, a switch is made...probably a double lift. I do close up magic in bars at the table, wondering if there are any angle issues... betting not save from below perhaps. Lol
There's a double lift demonstrated at about 01:00 in the vid. It is done fine so seeing the demo tells you what skill you need to perform.
I've happily bought from them for over a decade and wish Penguin would simply change the wording and eliminate any claims of Unethical advertising.
At the very least Penguin should employ an asterisk * or even say that it can be handed out - BUT, only with a "switch".
Otherwise, they can simply do what's been done in the Magiccafe for years, use the slight of hand grammatical short cut of typing "Switch" as
"S*****"
And that signals (but only to those in the know), that it does in fact, employ a switch, without actually giving away the secret.
Better yet, just do the right thing and say that yes, it can be handed out BUT ... a switch is needed. Does Penguin honestly fear that their sales or bottom line will be adversely impacted by being completely open and ethical and honest?
Yes, I agree they should be truthful about how they say things in these adds. They should just tell us, there needs to be a quick switch.
People think if you can hand out the same gimmicked card that they will never find the secret. That is what i thought when he said you can hand it out immediately. Yes, a bit misleading with those words.
