This set is fairly good quality. Milled edges would’ve made palming easier. The shells on this set
“talk” quite a bit and sometimes um-nesting the coin from the two shells can result in one of the
shells coming with the coin when you don’t want it to. Some low power magnets for more precise
handling would’ve been nice. I don’t use this set for any of the tricks that are taught in the
accompanying download. I have used it for a classic coins across - with and without the shells - and
for almost a “hopping half” type of effect, (only it’s just the Chinese coins and there is not the
added dynamic of copper and silver; but it still works. I adjusted my handling to allow for handing
out the coins before going into the routine, which makes it pretty cool. I’m not extremely
impressed, but also don’t hate this set. It’s well made and, for the most part, worth the price. The
teaching download leaves much to be desired, and I wouldn’t recommend relying on it. I would suggest
that whomever is buying this set has some existing experience with coins and shells. Not a lot of
experience needed, but by nature of how they’re made, some prior experience with coin manipulation
will help make this set more enjoyable.
