I bought this on Vanishing Inc, but always check penguin reviews before I purchase, and since this
had no reviews, I figure I’d add mine here.
This is absolutely great. As someone who is
very nervous palming cards, and not a huge fan of having a wallet anywhere but my pocket when the
load happens (in other words, I feel like having the wallet out and setting the deck on it or vice
versa kind of takes away from the miracle). Despite the saying “don’t run if you’re not being
chased), I was still looking for a way to load that card into a back pocket wallet without palming.
This is the way. What made me fall in love with it, is using this in combination with the
Extractor. Oh man. You have a true mind blowing miracle on your hands.
My handling (with
the extractor). Imagine: a spectator chooses ANY card and signs it. They place it back into the
boxed deck anywhere they want and close the box. You give the box a flip and place it into your
inside jacket pocket. Remove your OPEN hands, clean and clear as day and say you want to make a bet.
In your BACK POCKET is a wallet with a $100 bill. You turn to show the wallet in your back pocket,
and pull it out slowly and clearly. You open the wallet to show your ID in the ID holder and a $100
in the money clip (oh, it should also be said that I’m using the FPS WALLET for this, and not the
provided wallet. Another perk! You can use any wallet!)
Under my ID IS THEIR SIGNED CARD!
True magic. Impossible. There is no way that can happen. But it can!!
Extractor
Card Collector
FPS Wallet
— and you are Harry Potter.
No palming to get the card to the FPS wallet?
I can't agree more with the comment about the combination of:
-Extractor,
-Card collector,
-FPS wallet or any thin and light wallet (such as the Rebel Wallet, the Edge or Into Wallet, etc...)
Of course, nowadays, it's difficult to find each of these items. But when you have collected all of them, you have one of the best card-to-impossible-location effects.
The little business-card holder that comes with this product is made of plastic and doesn't look good at all. However the idea of using this rather than a classic wallet is quite clever, since you can justify the prop easily by giving at the same time your own business card. You can also collect signed cards from people and, as you show them to your spectator, you reveal his/her signed card. And the fact this kind of holder is not heavy and/or bulky helps a lot.
You don't need to palm the selection (even with an FPS wallet or any wallet).
However, you need a jacket (i.e. it is more suited for professional magicians) and one of the props is not well made. I suggest to use a money clip or something more reliable than the cheap thing that comes with the gimmick. Those who own the FPS wallet would know what I'm talking about.
Actually, it is the method that is worth the money. It's an underused and underestimated trick.
