I was quite disappointed by this effect after I received it. The ad copy and testimonials are great,
but, in practice, I found the restrictions on its use and where and how I could use it did not
measure up to the hype.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is and it was for me here.
Save your money.
Not so: this is terrific; you never get a "no" answer and still can tell the spectator his or her selected word. Maybe you don't like the method, and maybe the method isn't right for you, but gee, this is easy to do and astonishing and magical. Leave the book out and when someone notices it, do the effect--you will be pleased!
My Word is a Mentalism effect. It is very straight forward and easy to do. Even though it’s not required, it does not take long to memorize the first phase, which will allow freedom to develop a routine that fits you. If you truly think it is “too much process”, Mentalism may not be a good fit for you.
Kinda shocked to hear this. There is, in fact, very little process to My Word. "Turn to any page, think of any word in any puzzle, write it down so you won't forget it." That's all the "process" required to generate a random word chosen by your participant. From that point on, it's all effect... one revelation after another. At no point are you guessing letters, or fishing for information. No, it's straight into getting it right. I designed it this way on purpose. Maybe I'm missing why you think it's too much process and would love to hear your thoughts.
