Magic Tricks

I really wanted to like this lecture. I've been following John Born since the Cutting Edge Cards and Coins DVD came out years ago. But this lecture was lacking.

Although the magic John teaches is quite beautiful, most of it you will not perform. It requires a lot of gimmicks, some you have to make, some you can buy here at Penguin, and others you can only get from John's site. All these gimmicks are pricey, and if used for these effects only, aren't worth the price. The most amazing piece Mr. Born taught was a full coin routine. The only problem is he starts the explanation with when you do it it won't look as good because it uses a gimmick that you probably won't find. The only reason he has it is because he got lucky combining pieces with one trick with another and they don't make them like that anymore.

I gave the lecture 3 stars because John is passionate about magic and a great teacher. But I can only see 5% - 10% of magicians only performing what is taught.
