So I've played around with the effect, and it's really nice. It's best used with a new deck of
cards. My one drawback, (and this has nothing to do with the gaff Penguin, so I feel I should be
able to say this openly) that I don't like the advertisement cards having to be utilized in the
effect. Again, in context, you could perform this effect with a brand new deck, which makes sense,
but eventually it becomes a minor hastle, and even having to put a thought to them makes me go,
bleh.
That said, I've seen Mark Mason advertise a ton of tricks that will go straight to
your drawers, or generally crappy tricks overall (the man can't even do a decent Double Lift!)
Thankfully Just Think lives up to its reputation of being A ACTUALLY GOOD EFFECT that lives up to
its reputation...and a bag of chips.
Hell, you could do a card effect, and do just think,
and their thought could be ANYTHING. Need a logical presentation? Say you're a mindreader, they do
their drawing, word, etc, then deal out the cards facedown to faceup, advertisement cards on bottom
as you give a pseudo cold read. Look as if you're reading the cards, and give hints of their
word/image. Creepy, powerful, and just another application of Just Think.
The gimmick
itself: wierd. Then once you understand it, kick***. Trust me when I say you'd never think of it.
4 stars solid. Recommended
